Masjid Pak Wigah, located in Keeran Wala Syedan Sharif village on Mangowal Dinga Road, Gujrat District, Punjab was built on a sacred site called Pak Wigah, spanning 80 marlas. The masjid holds great spiritual significance and is a revered religious center in the region.
History:
The Masjid was built under the guidance of Al Haaj Dr. Muhammad Farrukh Hafeez, a respected spiritual leader, philanthropist, renowned specialized ophthalmologist, and saintly figure from Kadhar Sharif, who envisioned a magnificent mosque inspired by Delhi’s Moti Masjid.
Uniqueness:
The mosque’s uniqueness lies in its exclusive use of local white marble, adorned with intricate vegetal motifs, calligraphy, and geometrical patterns.
Dr. Farrukh designed and wrote Quranic inscriptions on the marble surfaces, incorporating various calligraphic styles like Kufic, Thuluth, Nusukh, and Nastaliq.
The fact that the entire mosque is built without the use of cement, stones, and iron leaves everybody astounded.
Construction:
The entire credit for this masterpiece goes to Dr. Farrukh, who believed that wisdom comes from Allah and reflected this in every aspect of the mosque’s design and construction.
Using just bricks and clay to strengthen the entire structure is incredible.
The construction was funded through donations from devotees and well-wishers.
Architecture:
The mosque is a prime example of Mughal architecture, which blends South Asian, Persian, and Islamic styles. It is built using white marble, which gives it a radiant appearance. The mosque features three large domes followed by three smaller domes and numerous minarets, creating a harmonious balance of shapes.
